Monochromatic in Shades of Beige and Bold Browns
So I'm really excited to bring you this look that I wore to church recently. My main source of inspiration came from my new shoes! I got them with a 50% off code and I just couldn't wait to wear them!
Thanks to Kim K shoes with vinyl elements and see-through bits are all the rage, but I wasn't sure how long shoes like these would be trending. If I wouldn't wear an item within the next year, then I probably shouldn't be buying. I try to stick to the 30 wears rule, if you can't get 30 wears it's a no go. Why? Truth be told it will most likely end up in a landfill, sad news for your wallet.. but worse news for the planet. So when I saw these wooden block heels from NastyGal I thought they balanced current trends with timeless elements, like a chunky wooden heel.
Now for the outfit to match the shoes. It was a 90 degree day so pants of any kind were out of the question, so was anything above the knee (church remember?). From the depths of my closet I pulled out the only appropriately lengthed skirt I owned, this little beige number I picked up at Nordstrom years ago. I liked that my shoes and skirt were in the same color scheme so I kept it going with my shirt, a creamy knit tank that I wished was a little more cropped but still worked out okay. I put on my new favorite earrings - tortoise shell hoops from Machete, and some dark/wooden bangles to add some pop and headed out the door.
This is the perfect outfit when attending a brunch, graduation, or meeting someones parents. My sister and I shot this look and I think we made magic! Hope you enjoy
